Aquatics Group Exercise

Aquamotion
If you need a class that will provide an all-over workout without aggravation or trauma to the joints, try exercising in the water! Highly recommended for the novice, beginner, senior, pregnant, overweight and those who need injury rehabilitation.

Arthritis Swim
A workout designed for people with arthritis, fibromyalgia, and other joint limitations. Exercises are done slowly to preserve and enhance joint mobility.

Aqua Express
An intermediate to advanced water workout utilizing noodles, kickboards and plenty of upbeat music Working against the water help you achieve muscle strength and tone, as well as aerobic endurance. Water shoes are recommended. Participants do not need to know how to swim.

Senior Splash
A 45 min. water class offered to members and silver sneakers. This is water walking class for those who want to strengthen muscle tone, stretch and have fun working out in water without aggravating joints! Highly recommended for the novice, seniors and those who need injury rehabilitation. Designed to improve circulation and stamina.


Harbor Square offers a variety of Group Fitness Classes for every fitness level. With over 80 classes scheduled each week and three fitness studios, Harbor Square offers one of the most varied programs in the Puget Sound.

Saturdays in February - 101 Group Exercise Classes

For our new memvers and long time members who want to join our GREAT Group Exercise classes and would like a little extra explanation and technique coaching so you can confidently join our wonderful classes.  We are offering "101" classes every Saturday for the month of February.  In these classes you will learn proper technique and form s you can safely and effectively joing the class.  You will also learn "cues" along with exercise names.  Where equipment is used we will show you how to set up the equipment (weights/bikes) to best suit your body and needs.

6th - Cycling - In cycling studio @10:30 am
13th - Body Pump - In Studio A @ 8:00 am
20th - Body Step - In Studio B @ 9:00 am
27th - Turbo Kick - In Studio B @ 9:00 am

 

Conditioning Classes

  • Body Sculpt
    A non-aerobic conditioning class utilizing various equipment such as weights, body bars, and tubing to sculpt and define your body. The is a great workout and can be adjusted to work for all fitness levels.
  • Ab/Lab
    20 Minutes of NOTHING BUT ABS! Great exercises geared to tighten and flatten your Abs!
  • Core Training
    This challenging class focuses on strengthening the CORE - “bottom of the chest, top of the knees, all the way around”.
  • Body Pump (Les Milles)
    This 60 minute workout challenges all your major muscle groups by using the best weight room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls.  Great music and your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for - and fast! 

Yoga

We offer Yoga every day of the week with a variety of styles and fitness levels.

  • Fit for Life Yoga (Beginner/Gentle)
    This chair based yoga class is a great class for all body types and fitness levels.  Whatever your age, ability of activity level this class can work for you.  Great for seniors, pre-natal, post surgery, or whatever limits your mobility.
  • Yoga (All fitness levels)
    This class teaches beginning students a foundation of core postures with opportunity to deepen their yoga practice focusing on body awareness, stretching, alignment and relaxation.  Great for Beginner!
  • YogaFlow (Intermediate)
    A dynamic active form of Yoga, where tradtional Yoga poses are united together using fluid transitions and breath.
  • Vinyasa Yoga (All fitness levels)
    This yoga class is physically challenging yet mentally and emotional relaxing.  The workout can be modified to work for the beginner participant.  The vinyasa style of yoga links the breath to the fluid movement of sun salutations making the practice athletic yet gentle and fun.
  • Power Viniyasa (Intermediate/Advanced)
    This yoga class offers the same active, fluid movements of sun salutations and held postures making the work-out a more challenging style of Vinyasa.  This class is great for those who want a more active yoga class.

Pilates

Pilates Mat
This class is open to all Pilates experience levels.  Challenge the powerhouse with a combination of beginning, intermediate, and advanced movements.  Mat work is considered the foundation of the entire Pilates Method.

Circuit Express Classes

Located in Southeast corner of the Free Weight Room

These classes are FREE for members!  In this class you get 30 Minutes of strength and cardio training as you circuit through various stations using the FREE Motion equipment.  This workout will improve your general health and fitness. All fitness levels are invited. Class size is limited to 15 individuals. Advance sign-ups re required as space is limited. Please call the Front Desk to Sign-up.

Cardiovascular Classes

  • Cardio Step Sculpt
    A little bit of step, low-impact and sculpting exercises makes this a steady cardio workout using easy to follow patterns a great class for beginners all the way up to the experienced participant looking for a great workout.  The "magic" combination of cardio and strength for "real" results!
  • Cardio Fun
    A steady Low impact cardiovascular workout using easy to follow patterns makes this class great for beginners all the way up to he experienced participant looking for a great “fat burning” workout.
  • Cardio Sculpt
    A cardio and conditioning full body workout! Intervals of low impact mixed with intervals of muscle conditioning using weights and body bars.
  • Step
    A fun high energy, non-stop cardio workout that combines great choreography, uniquely taught and filled with variations and option for everyone. Previous step experience is recommended.
  • Turbo Kick
    Groove your way to a brand new body in the action packed, super fun, very safe and effective cardio workout.  Experience one of the hottest exercise classes that burns up to 1000 calories per hour!
  • Latin Dancing (FREE for Members)
    This Latin inspired, calorie burning, sexy cardio workout is so much fun you'll forget your workout out.
  • ZUMBA (Sign-up/ $15 fee required)
    Latin style dancing fitness classs.  Join the millions of people that have decided that having fun and working out are not mutually exclusive.  Join those who'd rather have a blast!
  • Cardio Line Dancing
    Come learn fun choreography, simple dances like Electric Slide, Cotton Eye Joe, Reggae Cowboy, and Puttin' on the Ritz.  Great fun and effective fat burning!  No experience necessary.
  • Body Step (Les Mills)
    This is the energizing step workout that makes you feel liberated and alive.  Using a height adustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step you get great motivation from awesome music and fun instructors.
  • Step
    A great cardio workout using the step and easy to follow choreography.  Muscle conditioning exercises follow the cardio segment.
  • Interval BlastCome join this great early morning, fun, heart pumping workout.  You will use jump rope, the step, bosu and weights for a one of a kind sweat fest!

Group Cycling ~ 14yrs and up
Free to Members. $15.00 per class for Non-members

Our classes are suitable for beginner to advanced exercisers.

  • Cycling - Our cycling classes are for ALL fitness levels.  Join your instructor on different courses, hills, sprints, and intervals as you workout to great music.  Discover your athlete within, sweat and burn calories!  Or working at your own pace you can join the ride while enjoying the great music and motivation from your instructors!  Either way cycling is a great way to get and stay in shape! 
  • Cycle Sculpt - This one hour class flies by as you "circuit" through cardio training on the bike with muscle conditioning and weights off the bike.  Very effective workout!  You can chose to stay on the bike and make this a traditional cycling class.  It's your ride - you decide!

Senior Group Fitness
Harbor Square offers one of the most comprehensive Senior Fitness Programs in the Northwest. Our classes range from chair based classes to land based classes. All classes have great music and fun social interaction.

  • SilverSneakers® - Muscular Strength & Range of Movement - Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills.  Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
  • CardioCircuit SilverSneakers ® - Combine fun and fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout.  Upper boyd strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball is alternated with non-impace aerobic choreography.  A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises.
  • Fit for Life - A low impact, moderate intensity class designed for active older adults or anyone who would benefit from a lighter aerobic conditioning class.  This is not a chair based class.
  • Fit for Life Yoga - Beginner/Gentle chair based Yoga.  This class is great for all body types and fitness levels.  Whatever your age, ability or activity level.  Great for seniors, pre-natal, post surgery, or whatever may limit your mobility.
